When should be my child first visit?

According to the American academy of paediatric dentistry, in order to begin a thorough prevention program, it is recommended to consult a paediatric dentist when the first tooth comes in, usually between six and twelve months of age.

• Behaviour guidance techniques have allowed most paediatric dental patients to receive treatment in the dental office with minimal discomfort and without expressed fear.
  
• Moderate sedation using Nitrous oxide has allowed others who are less compliant to receive treatment.
  
• General anesthesia is required for more difficult patients

Nitrous Oxide is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over the nose to help the patient relax.

Why General Anesthesia?

There are some children and special needs patients with extensive dental treatment needs, who are very young to understand how to cope in a cooperative fashion, or who are extremely uncooperative , fearful  or anxious, or who have disabilities or medical conditions who require deep sedation, general anesthesia to receive dental treatment on a safe and humane fashion.

How can we prevent teeth and gum problems?
