Ultrasonic Instrumention and Air Polishing

​Ultrasound is sound energy with a frequency above the range of human hearing. Ultrasonic instruments have many advantages in dental application, including improved visualization, a conservative approach, selective and accurate cutting performance, and better cleaning effects.
These instruments are used in gum disease treatment blast away plaque, calculus and stains from the tooth surfaces, in root canal treatment as an aid to canal cleaning and disinfection and in surgery (Piezosurgery) for a selective, precise and safe bone cutting. 
Air polishing is mainly used in dental cleaning for the removal of bacterial plaque in difficult-to-reach areas as well as removal of stains and tooth polishing. It is also used in the treatment of periodontal disease (severe gum disease), dental implant cleaning and maintenance.
